Queenstown Tai Chi for Health Interest Group Activity - Jennifer & Simon, brought their taichi participants & family members for a Tai Chi walk cum tai chi practice at Marina Barrage on 30th August 2011. Weather was good. This Tai Chi Groups from Bishan, Queenstown and Toa Payoh, aged 40 to 80 years old, arrived at Marina Barrage at 8am. Had a good tai chi group practice overlooking the reservoir.
After taichi, the groups proceed to tour of the Marina Barrage exhibition halls to learn how the reservoir works and also about the history of Singapore. Participants enjoyed watching how the water movement came about, how sea water moves when tide is high etc. A good education tour for the participants.
After lunch, Jennifer brought the group to the Mushroom Farm. Learned how wheat grasses are grown and a tour to the wheat grass area as well as the mushroom farm. Students enjoyed the taste of the fresh mushroom and buying of the fresh produce. I also brought them to the vegetable farm, where more purchases was made.
The one day tai chi outing was a great success. Participants enjoyed themselves and asked to have more outing in the coming months. The tour ended on time, returning back to Queenstown cc at 4pm.
This outing was a good way to promote friendship, family and community cohesiveness, team spirit and getting to know each other better.
